I'd rather see the gradient editor grow into a similar interface to the filters dialogue - a list of gradients on the left, and the editor on the right. On-canvas editing of them just makes matters worse. Because elements get copied and pasted in from older strips or files of stock elements, the number of identical or very similar gradients in a document tends to grow very, very quickly. I do a lot of work with gradients in my comic strip - in fact some strips can be almost entirely gradient fills. (I was told it was to be phased out, and I thought it would be with 0.47, but I guess either I was wrong, or it is still planned, but hasn't yet happened.)Īs an aside, I'm dreading the day that the gradient editor gets phased out - on the contrary I would rather see it gain some functionality.
